“Are you troubled by strange noises in the middle of the night?
Do you experience feelings of dread in your basement or attic?
Have you or your family ever seen a spook, spectre or ghost?
If the answer is “yes,” then don’t wait another minute. Pick up the phone and call the professionals..”
But its only June?! Why are you posting about Halloween?
Yea its almost July and for us that means the beginning of halloween planning. Weird huh?
Well if you think about it, it’s not really. We have 6 children and my wife and I enjoy making their costumes by hand. Although the last couple halloweens the kids wanted to be store bought things; I say No More! I refuse to spend any more money on those mass-manufactured halloween costumes, they just aren’t worth the cost. Last halloween one of these “high quality” costumes started to decompose as soon as we began trick-or-treating. I had to keep bending over picking up pieces as they fell to the ground with every other step. These costumes cost anywhere from $35 – 45 each. That was the last straw for me. Those flimsy, store bought costumes can stay in the store as far as I’m concerned.
So this year, we are insisting that the kids be something that we can make the costumes for. This way we know they will hold up to the trials of halloween and more. I don’t know about any other parents, but my kids love to wear their costumes all year round. So far the only costumes we have left are the ones that we’ve made them.
Over the past few weeks we’ve been asking this kids what they want to be. And finally they decided. Whats even cooler is they decided to be the same things, which is awesome! I just love themed trick-or-treating. In case you have’t figured it out by now (shame on you) they all want to be Ghostbusters!
My wife will be making the jumpsuits, gb logo patches and name patches, and it will be my job to fabricate the Proton Packs. Which is going to be a lot of work but soo worth it.
Another quote from the movie is “A proton pack is not a toy.” – Egon Spengler
I’m afraid that I am going to have to disagree Egon. At least for our purposes.
As always I will try my best to document and share the process and progress on this project as I move along into it.
So who ya gonna call?!
Ghostbusters! We’re ready to believe you.

Man, and I thought that I had a problem with having to build just one, I can’t imagine how to build six of them. Well hopefully the prop replica gods will show us both some kindness and grant us some super cool prop building skills for this project.
I am updating my Proton Pack project over at my other blog lostinschlock.blogspot.com.
Take care,
Tim
Well actually it will be 5 instead of 6. My wife and I decided that making one for the 2 year old probably isn’t worth it. So that’s one less to make, which is good, now its 4 for the kids and 1 for me. (Yea Daddy wants a proton pack too!)
I gotta admit that I might have to build one for myself too. They are just too cool not to have!
right now I’m just trying to decide on how complicated I want to make this for myself, and what to use as a primary material for the builds. I’m leaning towards insulation foam for the primary material, so long as I can find a good hardening epoxy or resin that isn’t super expensive.
Went to your blog via Google and have not regretted. Very interesting article
Great site, how do I subscribe?

I looked it up on the apple store and it says to hold down and tap the picture from via email/ internet and then it will give me the option to save it. But when ever i do that it either magnifies the picture or it copies the picture. Is there a new way to do it with the iphone 3g s?

No one wants to give me a suitable answer for this question! How do I check the firmware if I bought an iphone that is unactivated? I can’t check it through iTUNES because it says I need to activate it, and I tried the emergency call thing and that doesn’t work. I need to know the firmware that way I can find out the appropriate method to unlock it. Help please?
