This blog has been here since 2006, albeit inactive the majority of that time, I think I’ve only ever deleted 1 spam message in all that time. But of course now, after an update and a few new posts and Wham-o! Spam-o! Go figure. How obnoxious is that? Have a blog up for a couple of days and here they come, posting comments about gibberish, male enhancing products and all that other fun stuff. Just beautiful.

So I started looking into working with silverlight today and so far so good. I have to say, its pretty slick to work with. One hurdle I am going to have to overcome is working with xaml, which is the gui “language” that silverlight uses for its interfaces. So let me ease into this and start with a simple what you need and how to start a new project.

Sick of your current web host? Looking for a place for your new website? Look no further, I have what you need!
I’ve been developing websites since the days of animated gif’s (wow yer old mister!), and I’ve been doing freelance development for about 4 years now. So what I’m getting at is, I’ve had my fair share of dealings with a variety of different hosting companies. While some are nightmares, some are good there is one that stands alone when it comes to service, features and overall satisfaction. Who is it? Well let me first tell you what they offer you.

Ooo, its a fancy new toy for me to play with. Well it’s not really new but it sure is neat, and its exactly what I need for a new project! (surprise surprise!)
As you may or may not know, I LOVE making games and seeing as I am a programmer I feel like I should have the required skill-set to do so. The roadblock I always hit is two fold though. The first part of the roadblock is graphics, while I am a programmer I am not a graphic designer, I like to draw but don’t feel that my work is game worthy, so I always end up getting frustrated with that and end up calling it quits. The second part of the roadblock is game programming knowledge. Even though programming is what I do, my primary focus in programming has always been business processing and automation (ho-hum kind of programming), so there’s a LOT to programming a game that I just don’t know. Anyone who has done research on game programming can tell you that there are sooo many choices, tools and theories out there that it can get a little overwhelming. So I guess the roadblock is really 3 fold. But, Oh Silverlight how you have tempted me to once again fall into this desire!

Well hidy ho! I finally revamped the blog and upgraded to the latest version of Wordpress. Those you were here before might notice that the entire format, purpose etc of the blog has changed, and with good reason. Unfortunately having a blog dedicated to a single topical area just doesn’t cut it for someone like myself. As such attempting to keep a blog associated with a single area leads to few or no posts ever. With this new much broader purpose I hope to be able to post updates much more frequently.
Check out the About page to see info on what I am hoping to accomplish with this new blog. Post soon!
